Let’s talk tapping, curiosity first.
If you’ve ever heard about EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and thought, “Okay, but what even is that?”, you’re not alone — and you’re in exactly the right place.
This post is for the quiet part of you that’s curious, a little skeptical, maybe even a little hopeful. The part that’s seen people swear by tapping and wondered if there’s something to it… but hasn’t felt quite ready to ask out loud.

So let’s lift the veil. Here’s everything you’ve secretly wondered about EFT – answered from someone who has had the very same thoughts, and is obsessed with it now.
🌀 “Does this really work?”
Let’s start with the big one.
Yes, EFT works. Not like magic, but like nervous system science, brain rewiring, and deep emotional permission — all woven together in a deceptively gentle little practice.
There’s real research behind it (over 100 studies and counting), but the most powerful “proof” might just be how quickly your body feels the immediate shift. Often, in just a few rounds of tapping, people report feeling calmer, clearer, softer, lighter.
🤷♀️ “But what exactly am I doing when I tap?”
You’re gently tapping on specific points of the body — acupressure points — while staying present with a thought, feeling, or memory. Think of it as speaking to your nervous system in its own language.
These points are known for sending calming signals to the brain (especially the amygdala — your fear and safety center). So while you’re giving voice to something uncomfortable, you’re also helping your body feel safe enough to process and release it.
It’s like saying: I see this pain. I’m not afraid of it. And I trust myself to feel it. That’s where the freedom comes in.
🕰 “When should I tap?”
I’ve written a little guide for you (read here!) even though there’s no one right answer — but here’s a sweet one: whenever your body or heart asks you to.
In the mornings, I tap to set the tone for my day. In the evenings, to release anything I’ve carried. And in-between? Any moment that feels sticky, charged, or like it might spiral — even if it’s just a five-minute pause in the car, or before a tough text.
You don’t need a crisis. You just need a moment of attention. That’s the beauty of EFT — it meets you exactly where you are.
“Do I have to say my feelings out loud?”
You don’t have to 🤍. You can whisper. You can think it. You can even write it down and tap silently. There’s power in voicing things, yes — but EFT doesn’t need to be performative. It just needs to be honest.
(That said, when you do give voice to a hard truth while tapping, something in you may feel deeply seen — by you. And that’s healing in itself.)
“Will it help me, though?”
EFT can support so many areas of life: anxiety, burnout, creative blocks, heartbreak, confidence, chronic tension, decision-making, sleep, emotional spirals… the list is long.
But here’s the key: it’s not about fixing you. It’s about meeting yourself more gently.
If you have a body, a nervous system, and a mind that sometimes loops or panics or shuts down — EFT has something to offer you. Even if you don’t know exactly what you need yet.
💬 Still curious?
I get it — this practice can sound almost too simple. But simple doesn’t mean shallow. And gentle doesn’t mean ineffective.
If your heart’s tugging toward this work, or even if it’s just raising an eyebrow — I’d love to talk.
No pressure, no fixing — just a conversation to explore whether tapping could be a part of your emotional toolkit.
✨ Because EFT isn’t about becoming a different version of you. It’s about finally feeling safe enough to be the version that’s been waiting underneath all along.
Let’s find out what that feels like — together.
